People Operations Specialist

We are currently looking for a Designs, plans and implements a company's employee relations program, policies and procedures. Maintains good communication and positive relationships with employees to promote employee satisfaction. Develops and implements programs aimed at increasing employee satisfaction.

Your tasks:

Clear understanding of HR and labor laws. Ability to explain and interpret for all employees, company and governmental rules, regulations and procedures and the need for compliance. Participates in the formulation and communication of policies/procedures and wage/benefit programs as well as addressing and resolving issues involving company policies and procedures.

Prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.

Guides department managers and employees throughout the performance management and goal setting process.

Responsible for employee professional development by analyzing training needs, developing curriculum and delivering courses. Evaluates the trainees for effectiveness of    training and individual employee growth. Also responsible for development of reporting for measurement of training needs and results.

Support engagement in the workplace by actively participating in the planning of events and activities, and align with mission, vision and values of SMR. Examples may be various social and wellness activities such as anniversary celebrations, annual company BBQ's, volunteering, lunch & learn sessions, etc.

Provide information on legal issues such as FLSA, FMLA, EEO, immigration, harassment and substance abuse to promote compliance. 

Fulfill the role of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer. Files EEO‑1 report annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

Facilitate immigration processing for expat employees.

 

Your profile:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent level of experience, training and education. 

Six to ten years of experience at a management or senior administrative level with emphasis on employee/labor relations, preferably in manufacturing. 

Knowledge of state and Federal laws, regulations and requirements related to human resources.

Knowledge of human resources practices, methods, and processes including recruiting and selection, employee counseling and training and development. Extensive knowledge of departmental processes. 

Ability to work with all levels of staff and to quickly build and maintain rapport with others. 

Flexibility to ensure HR representation on all shifts and company locations. 

Time management, able to multi‑task with attention to detail. 

Problem solving/analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. 

Maintenance of strict confidentiality as required in the role. 

Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and HRIS systems. 

Must be professional with a positive attitude and outgoing personality.
