Welcome to SMR Túrkeve
In addition to the region's renowned thermal baths, Túrkeve lies next to the Kőrös-Maros National Park and its Ecsegpuszta Nature Reserve which offers visitors excellent cycling, hiking, and horseback riding. Hortobágy (Puszta) is one of Europe's largest expanses of protected prairie, where Hungarian grey cattle, stud horses, Racka sheep with spiral-shaped horns and buffalo herds graze on open pastures. A World Heritage site since 1999, the Hortobagy National Park stretches over an area of 200,000 acres. The annual Kevi Festival of Shepherds, held in May, promotes and maintains the region's prairie traditions. Events include the national sheep shearing championship and various folk art and cultural programs.
